| Artist Statement:
My art is about the behavior of humans. The human animal is a strange beast with many complex and odd behaviors. Studying animal behavior in humans is a mix of zoological and sociological perspectives. These behaviors are often universal. Dominance, love, greed, anger, consumption, and addiction are several of topics I explore. I relate these behaviors to current social and political topics. My ideas come from a combination of research and first hand observation. I take all this information and combine it with dark humor. I fill the pieces with drawings, paintings, symbols, words, textures and objects to create satirical observations. There is great conflict between our animal instincts and our complex society. My art is about this struggle between modern humans and their inner beasts.
